Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs):
Selecting, Setting Up, Increasing Productivity, and Having Fun With Your PDA
Speakers: Ray Wiley, Chair, CPCUG Pocket PC SIG, and Shawn Googins, Chair, CPCUG PalmOS SIG

Audience: New and experienced users of PDAs

Purpose: Help PDA users become more productive and learn new tips for being organized while on the run.

Description: While on the go, do you need an easier way to keep in touch with
colleagues via instant messenger, e-mail, and the Web? Would you like an alternative to lugging around a heavy laptop when making presentations? Do you need to develop Web sites for easy viewing on the wide variety of PDAs now available? If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, you won't want to miss this meeting--put it on your calendar (PDA) now!

PDAs are increasingly popular, are seen everywhere, and are used for organizing business and leisure, even for recreation. This presentation will remove the mystery for those new to PDAs by describing what they are, what are they good for, and what your choices are.

There may even be a bit of a Palm vs. Pocket PC shootout!

Moving beyond the introduction, Ray Wiley and Shawn Googins will describe PDA ease of use and why your PDA won't become just another gadget that will gather dust. They will cover how PDAs can best be used for organizing personal and business details, and how to integrate and synchronize your PDA with your PCs. Shawn and Ray are lively presenters who will also share new ways to have fun with PDAs--don't miss this presentation!

Already a PDA guru? Come to this meeting and share your PDA tips and tricks with Ray, Shawn, and fellow PDA users.

Speakers:

Ray Wiley is the chair of the Washington, DC, Area Pocket PC Users Group (WAPUG), CPCUG's Pocket PC SIG, which meets the third Wednesday of most months. He may be reached at rwiley@hpti.com

Shawn Googins is the chair of the D.C. Metro Area Palm Users Group (DC-PUG), CPCUG's PalmOS SIG, which meets each month. He may be reached at theoenophile@yahoo.com
