Creative people have product ideas every day that never make it to market. And creating a technically sound product is no guarantee of success in the marketplace. To increase the odds for success, new products should also be easy to sell, deliver, bill, and support. 

Do you have a product idea? Then you need a product strategy, project plans, sales tools, and a well-defined product development process that will enable you to move cost effectively and in a timely fashion from product concept toward product launch and beyond. Speaker: Cynthia Gilmer, who founded Opus Plus, Inc., with Chip Beach, has 20 years of product development experience. Her private sector efforts include successes with iDirect, BBO, HomeTies Inc., Broadband Inc., and CNI. She has also provided products and services for government agencies including the Department of Defense, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the U.K. Ministry of Defence.

Free and open to all

Several times a year a smaller group (usually about 8 to 12) goes to Nanny O'Brien's (directly across the street from the library at 3319 Connecticut Avenue, NW, 202-686-9189, open 2 pm Saturday to 2 am Sunday) or another local establishment for continued conversation, networking, and refreshment following the meeting. (Participants pay for their own beverages and food.)
