Writing for the Web
Special 3-hour seminar

Speaker: Leslie O'Flahavan, E-WRITE

Whether you’re selling a product or service, it’s well-written content that brings visitors to your site and keeps them coming back. In this special seminar, you'll look at Web writing from the point of view of a Web site visitor.  You’ll analyze a variety of Web sites to discover traits of a well-written Web site. You’ll learn how to write your Web content to incorporate these traits.

Speaker: Leslie O’Flahavan partners with Marilynne Rudick in E-WRITE, a Silver Spring, MD, writing and consulting company specializing in online writing. E-WRITE teaches Web writing, and writes the content for Web sites and e-mail marketing materials. E-WRITE has taught Web writing and written Web content for e-commerce, business-to-business, educational, and association clients including Net2000, FolioFN, Eco-artware.com, Phillips Publishing, Network Solutions, Consumer Electronics Association, The Smithsonian Institution, American Airlines, Andersen Consulting, Prudential, National Cooperative Bank, Mid-First, Trade Compass, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and OvationTV. Free Parking: There's construction underway at NIH, so try to arrive a little early. (There are traffic police on the NIH campus--observe the signs--speeding or rolling through stop signs, for example, can result in tickets.)  You may park in the inside parking garage of Building 10. Enter from Memorial Drive and park on the P3 level. Watch for and observe the signs, including those about types of cars permitted in certain spaces (such as "handicapped" driver and" small compact" only.) Tell any parking attendant you are attending a CPCUG event (there will be no charge). You may also park in the many outdoor parking lots.
