This presentation will cover trends in the Internet appliance and embedded system marketplace. The concepts of Internet appliances and embedded systems will be defined, leading into discussion of current trends and future directions. The talk will conclude with demonstrations of Internet appliances and embedded systems, including an inexpensive MP3 player. Audience: Consultants and general audiences
Free and open to all, but please RSVP to bconn@cpcug.org Speaker: Frank Hum has 18 years of experience in the computer industry doing system engineering, development, and project management. He is currently Technical Account Manager, East Coast, for Linuxcare, providing professional services for major corporate and federal government clients. Before joining Linuxcare, Frank was Vice President, Engineering, for Glebe Electronics, Inc. Frank Hum has worked with numerous Government agencies, Fortune 500 firms, and small firms on information technology (IT) systems. He is a contributing author for Linux Unleashed, Fourth Edition, and SuSE Linux Unleashed, published by SAMS publishers. Mr. Hum received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Duke University and his Masters in Information Management from George Washington University. NIH campus--observe the signs--speeding or rolling through stop signs,
for example, can result in tickets.) You may park in the inside parking
garage of Building 10. Enter from Memorial Drive and park on the P3 level.
